ON COMPOSITION:

In his long carriere, BIS has written a great number of compositions. Initially he wrote Classical- and Jazz- themes, and, of course, innumerable songs. In fact, he is also a prolific song writer. Much of his later work, BIS has written as a contribution to ` World Music ´ . It is intended to be played exclusively on his invention, the Harmonic Mega Harp.

BIS musical work has undergone several changes in style, which he explains as follows: "Who else but artists have the stamina to undergo the many possible transformations that are really necessary, if one wants to obtain freedom. That includes freedom from cultural barrieres. ." And : " ..if one is really interested in the many cultures of this world, then one also enjoys listening to non commercial music, and honest human expressions.. "

The sound of his Mega Harp so indiscussably beautyful, that his audiences follow him -musically spoken -almost everywhere. BIS also uses rhythms in a striking new way. He -musically speaking - aims to enforce inspiration in individuals, who love to move to harmonize the inner and outer energies.

BIS also is an expert of several eastern styles of singing. He developed a incredible voice technique. Being a child of his time, a contemporary of those individuals who shaped the famous `68´ of last century, he lived in all the quarters of the world, one of many individuals who followed their desire to enhance their spiritual inclinations. BIS also adopted the believe, that the satisfaction a singer or musician can obtain, may also be based on the fact, that the moment he makes a heartefelt sound, he is also inviting presences. Since this conviction was born during several years spent enjoying a rather solitary life-style, we must follow him on that.

Always according to BIS, the mere repetition of `premediated song-lines ´ is counterproductive to spiritual growth. But spiritual artists and musicians, even if they are not heard and seen by many, still contribute substantially to the psychic hygiene of their society. But `spirituality´ can induce a uncounted benefits, onre amongst them results in the talent to compose melodies and songs on the spot; from the bottom of ones heart.

To practice unlimited spontaneity is invariably better, then rehearsing `prefabricated´ songs, that invariably cause the mind to wander. BIS says:

"Certainly, the scores I wrote are beautyful. But musical scores have to be played by musicians, who, due to the preferences of western culture have renounced a good part of their creative abilities. My compositions should not further this tendency. But generally, compositions are good in Jazz and Indian Classical music. In those styles, compositions are kept short, and each individual musician is allowed to soar above the usual limitations. They are allowed to excercise their creative abilities fully. I never wanted to be a sight- reading musician, so I do not want to bring anybody into this position, because musical miracles seldom happen that way. One can see the difference: Have a look at the orchestra- musicians, with their often cold expressions, and then look at all those happy closed-eyed improvisors.. .." What kind of music is BIS listening to?

" I have learned hundreds of melodies from all over the globe by heart. I believe, that ancient folk songs, from all corners of the world are the real musical wealth of mankind…" About his teachers he says:

"My favorite composers are not specialists of music only: I was lucky to have encountered men with courage, who had mastered wisdom. Since some of them also mastered music, their music became the vehicle of wisdom. These are the music teachers supreme." Whe asked about the `Sixties´ of last century :

"Some of us really becames sensible to the vulnerability of mother Earth. Today there is too much music that contributes only to sound pollution. Of course, music can inquinate."
